New edition of The Fourfold Root from Cambridge

In regard to my post earlier today, I’m glad to add that Cambridge University Press has announced that a new translation of the Fourfold Root is scheduled to be published as part of their uniform edition of Arthur Schopenhauer’s writings in November 2012. The volume will also include two extremely hard-to-find essays (shame on you, NYU library) by the philosopher, On Will in Nature and On Vision and Colors, this latter inspired by Goethe’s own color theory.

I must say that, translation aside, the Open Court edition of Fourfold Root is among the ugliest books I’ve ever come across in terms of design — it makes reading an absolute chore. So I’m looking forward to On the Fourfold Root of the Principle of Sufficient Reason and Other Writings, edited and translated by Edward Erdman, Christopher Janaway, and David E. Cartwright. I hope that the year goes quickly.
