Peter Marks and Howard Sherman on the new critical landscape

Last Saturday The Washington Post‘s Peter Marks and arts administrator Howard Sherman sat down with American Theatre‘s editor-in-chief Jim O’Quinn to discuss “Theater Beyond Twitter” at the Mead Center for American Theater; a video of their conversation is above. It was a thoughtful discussion; even if, for those of us who have been writing online about theatre for nearly ten years, it often sounded like Marks and Sherman had just discovered blogs, the Internet, and Twitter. (Lord knows, I’ve participated in and even led enough of these panel discussions myself.) Still, evolution takes a little longer than revolution, and it’s good to see the conversation continue. Welcome to the Web, Messrs. Marks and Sherman.
