“… and good luck with your future projects, Mr. Shakespeare”

Following up on a post on King Lear, Aleks Sierz engages in a little playful speculation on whether or not the play would be accepted by literary managers at today’s theatres. At the same time, David Ian Rabey in a comment to that post recommends some readings on the play: Mick Mangan’s A Preface to Shakespeare’s Tragedies and Stephen Booth’s King Lear, Macbeth, Indefinition and Tragedy. Mr. Rabey is right; both are excellent.
